Amy's Page
This site is designed to honor Amy Smith, Sierra Vista's beloved church receptionist.

Amy was always open with the knowledge of her illness, her medications and her struggles.  Her honesty, her love for Jesus and her desire to serve God, her family and her community are some of the reasons her passing came as such a shock to everyone.

It is our desire to provide a means to honor Amy, remember her family financially, and provide some resources for those are affected by biopolar disorder and clinical depression.
I lift up my eyes to the hills- Where does my help come from?   My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
Psalm 121:1
Those who knew Amy, knew she didn't plan on leaving us.

We long for things to be different. We long to hear her voice on the phone. Share a cup of coffee with her. Chat with her when we walk into the church office or catch her as she's rushing off to pick up a friend's child to attend an after-school program.

Depression is a vicious disease, often silently devouring its victims. Amy was very honest and open about her illness.  She fought so hard against it and with such determination that it was easy for us to forget her battle. Loving, generous, patient, forgiving, fun, and faithful, are just some of the words that describe this darling wife, passionate mother, faithful sister, adoring auntie, and gracious friend.

Amy loved, loved, loved her family! They were her safety net, her extreme delight. She loved her community. As church receptionist, she poured out her gifts and talents, while providing the extra income needed to help send Samantha to college, pay for Scott's high school expenses, and contribute to the general family needs.

We love you Amy - see you in heaven!
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
